The Special Operations Unit
The Village of Mamaroneck Police Department’s Special Operations Unit includes Traffic Officers and Bicycle Officers. The Traffic Officers, who utilize both vehicles and motorcycles, focus on selective enforcement as well as commercial vehicle enforcement. These officers have specialized training to ensure trucks traveling through the Village of Mamaroneck are safe and are in compliance with federal motor carrier safety administration rules and regulations. They also represent the department in special assignments such as parades and escorts. The Bicycle Officers are usually assigned to the downtown area in the Village of Mamaroneck. They are responsible for vehicle and traffic enforcement, as well as quality of life infractions.
